Ski LessonsSnowboard LessonsPrivate Lessons

Shames’ Discover package introduces skiing from age 6 and snowboarding from age 8, with rental gear, Green Carpet access and a group lesson. Next Step progresses to the Blue Chair, while Top Step develops skills on terrain reached by the T-Bar; private lessons are also offered.

Why we like it

Choose the step that matches the lifts and terrain you can already use. Book through the resort store, Terrace office or mountain desk, and confirm the session time: the page gives differing daily and weekend schedules.

Shames Mountain Rentals

Shames Mountain Rental Shop

Rentals

Shames Mountain’s rental shop supplies skis, snowboards, snowshoes and backcountry equipment. Its full backcountry package lists skis or a splitboard with skins, beacon, probe, shovel, telescopic poles and backpack; snowshoe rentals include poles.

Why we like it

Ask for the equipment category that matches your outing rather than assuming every package is the same. Beacon rentals do not include batteries, so bring the specified batteries or purchase them at the shop.

Pro Tip: Book Early

Lessons and rentals at popular resorts often book up quickly, especially during peak season and holidays. We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance to secure your preferred times.

Individual listings retain their own sources and check dates. A source check covers only the named details; it does not confirm availability. Snowfall averages describe climate, not a forecast.

The advertised 7,800 acres is backcountry terrain; it is not verified as lift-served skiable acreage.
