For rail access, travel to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. A bus continues to Val d’Isère in around 40 minutes, while the S83 serves Tignes. Winter airport transfers also run from Geneva and Lyon. In normal conditions allow around three hours from either airport, or around two hours from Chambéry, with extra time on busy changeover days. Approach through the Tarentaise valley in winter because the Col de l’Iseran is closed.
