THE VIBE

Verbier is royalty. The flagship of the 4 Vallées — Switzerland's largest linked ski domain at 410km of pistes — it is synonymous with world-class freeride skiing. The Mont Fort glacier at 3,330m, the massive itinéraire routes (marked but ungroomed), the Bec des Rosses (home of the Freeride World Tour finals), and the legendary back bowls make this the most respected expert mountain in Switzerland. But Verbier is not just for experts — the Savoleyres sector offers gentle cruising, and the village itself is a cosmopolitan paradise of bars, restaurants, and après-ski that rivals St. Anton. If you ski one resort in Switzerland, ski Verbier.

Best For

  • ✓Expert freeriders and off-piste enthusiasts
  • ✓The Freeride World Tour faithful
  • ✓Those who want both legendary terrain and legendary après

Skip If

  • ✗You are a beginner — most of Verbier's best terrain is advanced-to-expert
  • ✗You are on a tight budget — Verbier is Swiss prices at their steepest
