THE VIBE

From Grindelwald Terminal, the Eiger Express climbs toward Eigergletscher beneath the Eiger’s north face. From Wengen, the railway climbs toward Kleine Scheidegg and the cable car reaches Männlichen. Both villages serve the same ski area, but where you sleep changes your first lift and your route home.

Best For

  • ✓Skiers who like long groomed descents and a rail journey home
  • ✓Mixed groups looking for practice areas and mountain viewpoints
  • ✓Travelers who want a car-free stay in Wengen

Skip If

  • ✗You need to drive to the door of a Wengen hotel
  • ✗You want to ski directly onto the slopes of Grindelwald-First or MĂźrren-Schilthorn

Before you go: Check trail status and the return timetable before setting off. High trails can retain snow after the valley has turned green.
