GETTING THERE

Nearest Airports

✈️
MMH
Mammoth Yosemite
About 20–40 minutes
drive time

Approximate planning ranges; allow extra time for traffic and winter conditions.

Reach June Mountain from US 395 using the southern junction of SR 158 through June Lake. The northern part of the June Lake Loop closes with snow; do not plan winter access through either end interchangeably. Follow current Caltrans road conditions and traction controls, including requirements for your vehicle.

From Southern California, US 395 is the main Eastern Sierra approach. Bay Area trips require a winter-open route around the Sierra; Tioga Road through Yosemite and Sonora Pass are seasonal routes, so summer drive estimates can be misleading. Leave time for storms and stops.

Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) and Bishop (BIH) are flight options with different seasonal services. Compare flights and arrange onward transport before booking. A stay in Mammoth means a separate drive to June Mountain; pass access, lessons and equipment arrangements should be checked for the mountain you will actually use.

At June Mountain, allow time to collect tickets and ride Chair J1 to the chalet area for lessons, rentals and dining. The parking area is below the main visitor facilities.

OVERNIGHT STAYS & CAMPERVANS

For June Mountain, compare a booked room or rental around June Lake with a designated campsite that accepts your vehicle and winter dates. Choose your base around the daily mountain journey and the power, water and indoor facilities you need.

Compare lodging options ↗

Book a designated overnight place for your vehicle and dates. Day parking does not provide permission to camp.

🐕 PET POLICY

Confirm pet-eligible lodging and resort access separately. For walks in the surrounding area, choose designated routes and follow posted animal restrictions; accommodation approval does not include ski-slope access.

Confirm rooms, fees and access rules with the property or resort before you travel. A pet-friendly area does not mean pets can use ski slopes or lifts.
