THE VIBE

Kimberley Alpine Resort is a relaxed, family-oriented resort on North Star Mountain in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia. It gets more sunshine than most BC resorts thanks to its inland Rockies location, and the long, well-groomed intermediate runs are ideal for cruising. The charming Bavarian-themed town of Kimberley (a former mining town) adds character. Night skiing under clear Kootenay skies is a highlight. It lacks the steeps and powder of nearby Fernie but compensates with mellow vibes and empty runs.

Best For

  • βœ“Families with intermediate skiers
  • βœ“Anyone seeking an uncrowded, relaxed experience
  • βœ“Pairing with Fernie for a BC Rockies road trip
