THE VIBE

St. Anton puts a mainline railway station, the Galzig lifts and slopeside après within the same mountain town. The Kandahar is a demanding piste; Valluga’s north side is a separate guided off-piste objective. Ski Arlberg spans several valley bases, so check lift connections and the route home before ranging far from town.

Best For

  • ✓Expert skiers who live for steep, deep powder
  • ✓Après-ski enthusiasts wanting the world's best party
  • ✓Freeriders exploring 200 km of off-piste terrain

Skip If

  • ✗You want a quiet, relaxed holiday -- St. Anton's energy is relentless
  • ✗You are a nervous beginner -- the main terrain skews advanced

EXPLORE THE MOUNTAIN

Look for Kandahar on the current piste map for a challenging marked descent. Families can try the Hopplweg or the Funslope when open. The Valluga north-face descent is off-piste: arrange a qualified guide before taking skis on Valluga II and let the guide assess weather, avalanche conditions and the group.
