THE VIBE

Kicking Horse is a serious mountain. The fourth-largest vertical in North America drops over 4,100 feet from summit to base, and 60 percent of the terrain is rated advanced or expert. The famous CPR Ridge offers exposed alpine lines that rival any expert terrain on the continent. With only five lifts spreading skiers across 2,800 acres, it is blissfully uncrowded. Golden is a quiet highway town, not a resort village β€” which is part of the charm.

Best For

  • βœ“Powder hunters
  • βœ“Anyone who wants a big mountain without big crowds

Skip If
