THE REGION
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort rises dramatically above the town of Golden, British Columbia, at the confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse Rivers. The resort boasts one of the highest vertical drops in North America at 1,315 meters (4,314 feet), with 2,800 acres of big-mountain terrain that has earned it the nickname 'Champagne Powder Capital of Canada.'
Golden sits at the crossroads of five mountain ranges — the Rockies, Purcells, Selkirks, Cariboos, and Monashees — creating a unique microclimate that delivers an average of 750 cm (295 inches) of dry powder annually. The resort is known for its expert-level terrain, including the famous steep chutes and bowls of the upper mountain.
